So glad I made it to the finale party of ,”Go Healthy NYC”.Besides going to support my all time winning Team,”TEAM BRONX”, and my friend,”Walter Lucky Church Simmons”,I couldn’t believe what I heard next! As the ostentatious trio of Allure music took flight and hopped up on that stage, their voices belted out highs and lows that one has never heard with complete beauty,and grace to complement their talents!!!
To think a small talent show took their talent WORLWIDE, Alia Davis,Lalisha McLean,and Akissa Mendez studied at the school of the arts, we in call,”LaGuardia”.They decided to form a music group, recruiting Linnie Belcher,and later auditioning with Poke of the Trackmasters production team.Ther were signed to Trackmasters and were granted the coveted name of,”ALLURE”!!! Through this, they became the first artists signed to Mariah Carey’s Crave Records.They released their debut in 1997, and before everyones eyes started selling gold selling singles,”Head over Heels”, with Nas,”No Question”, with LL Cool J,and their platinum hit,”All Cried Out”, a US number 4!!!
Back in 1998,they did a collab with 50 Cent on,”Let it Be”, featured on the Woo soundtrack.That was followed up by,”You’re the Only One for Me”, on the Runaway Bride soundtrack.Their second album was called,”Sunny Days”,they appeared on Mr.Jones,with the song,”The Letter”, produced by the fabulous,”Wyclef Jean”.
2004 brought these tenacious talents their third album,called “Chapter 3″, which was in reference to them losing a member and obtaining a lineup change.This project was released while they were signed to Ron Artest’s Tru Warrior label.
These ladies are back and they are KILLING it!!!!They are in the midst of producing their fourth and album and from what I hear one of the BEST.Their first single reprsents their appreciation for good men called,”Proud to Be”!!!They did back up on Ice T loves Coco on VH1 reality.
Allure is filming their very own hit show, chronicling their journey into the industry, as female artists,sisters, and now mothers!
It is titled: ALLURE-STILL TOGETHER!!!
